Rap Sh!t Season 2 Trailer Revealed
Max channel has renewed Issa Rae's comedy series for a second season. Shawna and Mia, two longtime high school friends who had drifted apart but later reconciled to form a rap group together, star in this comedy.
The series follows in the tradition of HBO's Insecure by depicting women who make decisions without fear or regret, much like its protagonist, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker). Watch below for an exclusive trailer!

Max Original announced last September that it had renewed Rap Sh!t for a second season, and today the streaming service shared the trailer for this installment. Set to premiere Thursday August 10, its eight-episode run will continue with one episode released weekly until Thursday September 21. Issa Rae serves as executive producer and showrunner, while Montrel McKay (Insecure), 3A's Dave Becky and Jonathan Barry and City Girls' JT are co-executives as are Kevin "Coach K" Lee and Pierre Thomas from Quality Control Films as co-executives while City Girls' City Girls cast members Kevin "Coach K" Lee & Pierre Thomas for Quality Control Films while Sara Rastogi and Jax Clark of Hoorae and Raedio provide music supervision respectively.
Shawna and Mia find themselves involved in more industry antics as they prepare to tour with Reina Reign while maintaining their respective lifestyles in the wake of success. Confronted by the consequences of their illegal credit card scheme, they must decide if they wish to remain true to themselves or succumb to music industry demands. Aida Osman and KaMillion reprise their roles as high school friends; Jonica Booth, RJ Cyler and Daniel Augustin also join them.
Max Entertainment recently unveiled their roster of original programming with Harley Quinn Season 4, Steven Soderbergh's limited series Full Circle, and now Rap Sh!t Season 2. You can watch its Season 2 trailer above.

Issa Rae has become synonymous with bold storytelling and continues to pioneer her way forward. First making her mark as the creator and star of YouTube series Awkward Black Girl - leading to an HBO showrunner deal eventually; later creating and staring in Insecure which became one of the most-wanted talents across both television and film productions.
Rae is not only a prolific creator herself; she founded HOORAE Media as a broadcasting and production company to champion Black and diverse stories and creatives. Their portfolio includes television and digital productions as well as ColorCreative talent management services; they recently unveiled Raedio: an artist-friendly music label which gives artists complete control of their work.
HOORAE's success with Rap Sh!t has enabled it to expand into producing content for other platforms. Their 360-degree approach to production ensures creators have full support while opening doors to reach new audiences. In addition, they've collaborated with talent such as rappers Yung Miami and JT of City Girls to produce online-first content.
Rap Sh!t stars Mia (KaMillion) and Shawna (Osman), two former high school friends who reunite as an unofficial rap duo. Aida Osman and KaMillion, stars of Issa Rae's hit comedy Rap Sh!t, have scored major career highlights with their acting debuts on Issa Rae's series Rap Sh!t. Playing Mia and Shawna who reconnect after high school as rapper duo Mia & Shawna respectively in Miami; Osman writes for and plays Shawna in Osman - she was even comfortable writing before this opportunity came along! "I was writing my whole life before this!" she shared when we caught up with her to discuss Issa Rae's first season premier on HBO Max this week.
Rae and Syreeta Singleton co-executive produced this half-hour comedy about two best friends who reunite in Miami to pursue their dreams as a rap duo, yet are threatened by day jobs, relationship challenges and musical inexperience. After an initially turbulent start-up process they eventually gain recognition in the music world but must decide between staying true to themselves or conforming to its demands.
Jonica Booth plays Chastity and RJ Cyler (Lamont). Daniel Augustin serves as manager to their rapping duo. This critically acclaimed Max original will return for its second season later this year and air weekly at 6 PM Pacific time each Thursday until completion.

Yung Miami and JT of City Girls have returned with another hit single and music video entitled "Twerk," featuring Cardi B. The video has garnered over one million views on YouTube since its debut. This comes following their debut mixtape Period as well as two studio albums: Girl Code and City on Lock.
Max Original series' first season ended on an intense cliffhanger as police closed in on Shawna who had been running a credit card scam. Luckily, it has been renewed so fans will get to see what happens next.
Yung Miami remains confident that she and her group can withstand the pressures of industry life as well as individual egos, as she recently expressed during an IRL podcast chat with Angie Martinez: even though they've encountered problems together in the past, over time their relationship has deepened considerably.
