Westside Gunn Teases Swizz Beatz Pharrell & Mike Dean Collabs Following His Album

Future Starr (NEWS) FutureStarr.com Westside Gunn Teases Swizz Beatz Pharrell & Mike Dean Collabs Following His Album Westside Gunn took to Instagram this week to tease potential collabs with Swizz Beatz, Pharrell and Mike Dean after his album and Then U Pray For Me was released. According to Westside Gunn, he's been living abroad and working hard in preparation for this project. Gunn's new track "Science Class" pays homage to his old school. The track features an earthy Swizz beat paired with a vocal sample that helps keep things tight. Roc Marci & Alchemist Roc Marciano hails from Hempstead, Long Island in New York during a golden era for underground East Coast rap when artists such as Busta Rhymes' Flipmode Squad and The UN were making waves. His delivery, produced by Busta himself, is sharp and precise without resorting to word salads or ad-libs. After some time, Marciano decided to depart Busta's group and pursue his own path. He released strong mixtapes and albums under his own name such as Marcberg and Reloaded which offered an alternative sounding perspective from what was being created in the mainstream rap scene at that time. These grungier tracks served as a stark contrast to what was being created within that genre. These tracks showcased Marciano's talents as both a rapper and producer, while providing an authentic look into Hempstead's urban culture. His music blended elements from different cities around the world in an eclectic fusion that was uniquely New York. As an underground artist, he was able to break free of the industry norms and rely on his creativity and business acumen instead of having access to money or resources like those provided by major labels. This enabled him to release his music in a way that would never have been possible with an established record label. His determination and focus on his craft propelled him to become one of the most influential rappers in the game. Even today, he continues to make waves in the underground scene by encouraging new artists to follow their own path. Since 2010, Roc has released multiple projects with various collaborators, further cementing his status as an elite rapper both in terms of talent and production. His most recent venture, The Elephant Man's Bones, is a collaborative effort between him and Alchemist that takes Roc's abilities to new heights. This album pays homage to the underground scene they helped pioneer, offering an elite showcase of elite emceeing and bold beatmaking with all the same intensity that launched their careers. The Elephant Man's Bones is truly a masterpiece that hip-hop enthusiasts are sure to adore! Open Mike Eagle & Viktor Vaughn Last week, Westside Gunn dropped by our office and hinted that Swizz Beatz and Pharrell would be following up their collaboration with Mike Dean. He was referring to their respective albums' new tracks which will be released next month. Gunn's recent raps are notable for the unique ways they bring together MCs and producers. This is particularly evident on "Science Class," a cross-generational posse cut that sounds like there's an old soul teacher playing classic tunes while the most captivating students take center stage. The song's earthy Swizz beat keeps things moving along while an engaging vocal sample helps keep time. Swizz Beatz often features Viktor Vaughn on his songs, and this time around he joined Swizz for "Science Class". His verse on the track is especially memorable, as is his final line where he remembers how much he misses working in the studio. Open Mike Eagle is an LA-bred Chicago rapper, part of Project Blowed and the Los Angeles art rap scene since 2009. To date he's released eight LPs including 2022's Component System with Auto Reverse. In addition to his own music releases, Eagle hosts a Comedy Central series called The New Negroes With Baron Vaughn and is the founder of Auto Reverse Records. His projects include Quarantine Recordings, Anima Trauma and Divorce albums as well as Component System from Auto Reverse itself. Eagle draws from a diverse musical background and an interest in history to create his art rap style music. While it often draws from ancient writing, his rhymes and themes are contemporary emcee's creations. His lyrics are filled with references to both the past and present, yet he always strives to push his ideals in an effective way. Consequently, his works are as diverse as they come; often genre-agnostic yet also possessing a unique sense of style. 03 Greedo & BlueBucksClan On Tuesday (February 21), Westside Gunn took to Instagram to share a series of pictures featuring him hanging out in London with Swizz Beatz Pharrell & Mike Dean. In the caption, he revealed that he has been working on his upcoming album while honing his craft as a fashion designer while living abroad. Swizz Beatz (Kaseem Dean) is a Grammy award-winning producer and rapper from New York who has collaborated with artists across various genres such as Ruff Ryders and Roc-A-Fella Records. He quickly gained notoriety for his inventive production style and unique ideas, earning him recognition among hip-hop royalty over the years. His influence can be felt across various genres and generations alike through his extensive roster of collaborations. In addition to producing hip-hop music, he has ventured into pop and rhythm and blues genres. He's produced songs for numerous artists such as Usher and Nelly. He has released numerous albums and singles. As the founder of Full Surface Records, he was instrumental in producing some of the top rap songs of the 2000s. Greedo's career spanning two decades has earned him accolades for his unique ability to twist complicated tunes into catchy melodies. His talents have been featured on many hit songs, making him a go-to among fans of trap and West Coast hip-hop music alike. The Texasan MC returns with his long-awaited project Free 03, featuring 15 tracks from his vast back catalog of unreleased music. This mixtape marks the first full-length release since 2020's Load It Up and features guest appearances by KenTheMan, OhGeesy, BlueBucksClan and late legend Drakeo The Ruler. On "Pourin," Mike Free connects with L.A.'s hottest rap group, BlueBucksClan, for a track that interpolates Mike Jones' 2005 hit, "Flossin." Produced by Mike Free and set to appear on the upcoming Free 03 tape, this song will be included as part of an extended version of Jones' previous hit single from 2005 titled "Raise Your Glasses." Greedo has continued to share highlights from his period of prolific creativity before beginning his prison sentence in 2018, and he's eager to bring more new music into the market. He claims that he has over 3,000 songs ready for release, showing that even while behind bars he can still make an impact on the world. Kendrick Lamar & Drakeo Westside Gunn, who records for Eminem's Shady Records and co-founded Griselda Records with his brother Conway The Machine and cousin Benny the Butcher, teased Swizz Beatz, Pharrell, and Mike Dean on Instagram this week through photos featuring Gunn hanging out in London with three rap titans. The Griselda head honcho also posted a video of the trio hanging out in his home studio. It features gold chains, fly clothes, and jewelry adorning each of their bodies. As we eagerly await the release of Gunn's new album, Who Made The Sunshine, he recently teased fans on social media about a project he is working on with Swizz Beatz and Pharrell. Called & Then U Pray For Me, it will feature guest appearances from renowned lyricists and producers. Charlamagne Tha God hasn't ruled out Kendrick Lamar or Drake making his Top 10 Greatest Rappers list just yet, but he did give them some criticism for their placements on VIBE and Billboard's charts. And he wasn't afraid to challenge Compton and Toronto rappers to get their due, even if that meant competing against Kanye West, Lil Wayne, or Jay-Z. Lamar already enjoys a devoted fanbase and an abundance of accolades with his critically acclaimed debut LP good kid m.A.A.d City, which debuted at number 2 on Billboard 200 and earned seven Grammy nominations. Furthermore, Lamar topped Billboard's year-end charts as the artist with the most Top 100 hits, including "HUMBLE," which peaked at number 1. He's one of the most prominent voices in hip-hop today, shaping what many perceive to be its future. His music represents a new era for rap which is moving away from its past decade's eerie drill and trap sounds toward an uptempo neo-soul blend of old school samples with soaring synths and high-pitched drums.
