Cabezon Wounded Warrior Haven Overview Location and Mission Cabezon Wounded Warrior Haven (CWWH) is a charity foundation that provides physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual integrative health services for first responders, military veterans, wounded warriors, and their families. Established in 2014, CWWH is located in Sandoval County, New Mexico. The haven is situated on a remote 65-acre ranch in an abandoned western ghost town near the Rio Puerto River. Surrounded by a 32,000-acre BLM wilderness, the location offers a serene and picturesque setting for healing and reflection. The mission of CWWH is to honor the brotherhood and camaraderie that was left behind with the fallen on the battlefield, and to reinstitute this philosophy and sense of leadership back into the family, team, and unit. The haven aims to empower its guests to move forward in life by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support. Programs and Services Offered CWWH offers a range of programs and services designed to enhance life skills, build hope for the future, and promote healing. One of the key programs is equine and service animal-assisted interaction, which has been proven to be beneficial in improving physical and mental well-being. Through these interactions, participants can develop trust, gain confidence, and establish emotional connections. Additionally, CWWH organizes various events and activities that provide recognition and pay tribute to the heroes and their families. These events aim to create shared experiences that heal old wounds and foster a sense of community. The programs and services offered at CWWH focus on tradition, commitment, honor, and dignity, and are tailored to meet the unique needs of military and first responder families. Target Participants Cabezon Wounded Warrior Haven is specifically designed to support first responders, military veterans, wounded warriors, and their families. The haven recognizes the sacrifices made by these individuals and aims to provide them with a safe and supportive environment where they can heal, grow, and rediscover their purpose. Whether someone is struggling with physical injuries, emotional trauma, or the challenges of transitioning back to civilian life, CWWH is dedicated to serving those who have served. Volunteer Team CWWH owes its success to the dedicated support of its volunteer team, which includes former combat soldiers, civilian volunteers, and compassionate individuals who genuinely care about the well-being of wounded warriors and their families. These volunteers play a vital role in helping to run the programs and services offered at CWWH, ensuring that each guest receives the care and support they need. The commitment and generosity of the volunteer team enable CWWH to continue its mission of empowering guests to move forward in life.
