Odell Beckham Jr. Is Still Looking For $20 Million Per Year

ICYMI: Future Starr (NEWS) FutureStarr.com Odell Beckham Jr. Is Still Looking For $20 Million Per Year OBJ is seeking $20 million annually and must first prove himself worthy. With NFL free agency starting next week, OBJ will be one of the most sought-after wide receivers available on the market. He's already visited with the Giants, Bills and Cowboys, with plans to take more visits before making a final decision. Additionally, it has been reported that he may take time out to consider his options with his family at home before making a final decision. OBJ’s Market Heats Up Odell Beckham Jr.'s free agent market is heating up, as he has meetings scheduled with multiple teams this week. To make a decision, the former LSU Tiger is expected to hold a private workout with teams in Arizona on Friday afternoon. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that OBJ has yet to sign a deal but believes he's worth $20 million per year in the league. Furthermore, he anticipates being fully recovered from his second torn ACL by training camp, which begins in late December. With a healthy Beckham, the Buffalo Bills would have an outstanding receiver to fill in for Josh Allen and make an immediate impact player. He is versatile enough to play as either a deep threat on either side or out in the slot, and his skills as both a pass-catcher and run blocker make him invaluable in the open field. Another potential suitor could be the Kansas City Chiefs, who were reported to be interested in obtaining a wide receiver 2 after losing Robert Woods to free agency. Unfortunately, their lack of cap space may prevent them from signing him. This season, the LA Rams have been in the spotlight for several reasons and remain confident about keeping Beckham. Thanks to a strong culture within their organization and ability to retain top players despite some difficulties encountered along the way, they have maintained optimism about keeping Beckham. Therefore, the Rams' front office is confident they can retain their top wideout until he returns from injury in 2022. This will give them time to develop younger talent while OBJ is in training camp and potentially re-sign him to a multi-year contract once his ACL tear has healed completely. No matter if he returns to the NFL in 2022 or not, Beckham will remain an asset for any team he signs with. His extensive list of endorsements and reputation as a social media star are proof that he's worth something to any team. Recently he also made a charitable contribution by teaming up with ShopRite Partners In Caring and Crest to raise money for hungry Americans. OBJ Meets With Cowboys After visiting the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills during his mini free-agency tour, Beckham has finally arrived in Texas. On Monday he met with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, head coach Mike McCarthy, and other top team officials to finalize his commitments. At that meeting, the 30-year-old wide receiver was more open about his desire to play for Dallas. He expressed that he hopes to secure a deal that will pay him $20 million annually. He announced his plan to meet with Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of the team's leadership group on Tuesday. If all goes according to plan, a deal could be finalized within days. Jones also dispelled any speculation that the recent airport incident with Beckham might have affected his decision on including him in the team. OBJ, who has 531 receptions for 7,367 yards and 56 touchdowns in his NFL career, remains on the market after tearing his ACL twice within 16 months. It remains uncertain if he'll be able to return next season but he remains a highly sought-after player with plenty of appeal. Last season, his impressive play for the Los Angeles Rams -- particularly during the playoffs -- spurred many interested parties to pursue him. At year's end, he had 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight regular-season games as well as four postseason contests. With his second torn ACL in 20 months, it appears unlikely OBJ will return to the field this season. That poses a major question for any team looking to sign him. After an impressive college career that culminated with Cris Collinsworth and Tony Dungy's "catch of the year," Beckham entered the NFL as a first-round pick in 2014. In his rookie season with the Giants, he recorded 531 receptions for 7,367 yards. Beckham had already achieved great success during his early college career, but his best year came during 2014 when he started all 13 games and led his team to the SEC title game. On November 23, he made an incredible catch against Dallas that many considered one of sports greatest ever. OBJ Meets With Giants Beckham has made a name for himself as an iconic Nike endorser, but the LSU graduate has also collaborated with brands such as Daniel Wellington, Head & Shoulders, Foot Locker, EA Sports, Dunkin Donuts, Lenovo and Steiner Sports. His popularity has earned him millions in commercials and boasts an expansive social media following across multiple platforms. He could easily command the highest salary among NFL players due to his public presence and fan base. That could be a draw for the Giants, as they have a history of rewarding star receivers with multi-year contracts. Last year's Kenny Golladay contract has proven to be an unsustainable financial burden, so the Giants are now searching for a veteran pass catcher to complement their young receiving corps. While Beckham may not be an exact replacement, his presence could keep them competitive in their race to the Super Bowl. Beckham has yet to officially sign a contract, but he has been in contact with various teams. He's met with the Cowboys, Giants and Bills. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, He plans to meet with the Giants on Thursday before visiting the Cowboys on Monday. The Cowboys have emerged as one of the top teams to sign Beckham, with owner Jerry Jones believing he will contribute in the playoffs. In an interview with USA Today, Jones expressed his "optimism" that Beckham will join Dallas and contribute during this postseason. If he joins the Cowboys, they could build around him and potentially trade for another wideout down the line. Meanwhile, New York Giants are searching for a receiver to complement Saquon Barkley and quarterback Daniel Jones. Finally, the Giants must make a bold move. Signing OBJ would be an immense boost to their receiver position and help the team build around its younger core that already boasts two first-round picks this year. It would be an immense help to them in making decisions going forward. OBJ Meets With Bills If Beckham decides to depart Los Angeles, there's no doubt he has his sights set on the Buffalo Bills. With their recent struggles in the red zone and need of help at receiver, the Bills would be an ideal destination for the three-time Pro Bowler. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bills and Giants are in talks about a meeting this week, with OBJ expected to attend. With the free-agent market heating up, it appears OBJ will be spending time with all teams that have expressed an interest in him. While the Giants and Cowboys appear to be his top choices, he could still opt for another team. The Buffalo Bills have expressed interest in signing OBJ, but have had limited success thus far. The Bills have struggled to score touchdowns in the red zone and lack depth behind Stefon Diggs at wide receiver, so they may not be able to provide him with as much playing time as other teams do. However, the Bills have a good relationship with their star wide receiver and believe he can make an immediate impact. Additionally, they have some additional cap space to offer him. In fact, the Bills have converted $2,971,667 of CB Tre'Davious White's base salary into a signing bonus, giving them more financial flexibility to compete with Giants and Cowboys for OBJ's services. Even if they don't land him, the Bills still have plenty of other talented receivers that could benefit them in the long run. All that remains is for them to find the right signings so that they can start moving forward in a positive manner. In any case, OBJ isn't the only player meeting with teams this week. The Los Angeles Rams have also reached out to Beckham and expect him at their facility on Thursday and Friday. Rams COO Kevin Demoff expressed optimism on Monday that they can sign OBJ but noted he must continue working on his knee before entering the NFL.
